SHOULD I BRING A TRIPOD?
During all our daytime PhotoWalks, it will usually not be required to bring a tripod. Some locations do not even allow you to use a tripod without a photo license. For some tours where we might work with filters and long exposures it would be required, but this would be listed on the itinerary. For our City of Lights tour it is required to bring a good, sturdy tripod for best results.
What camera do i need for a PhotoWalk?
You are welcome to bring any photographic tool you prefer, from a smartphone to a medium format camera. However, as we are usually not using the AUTO settings of your camera, we would recommend a camera with some form of manual control settings for optimal control over the exposure.
If it rains, then what happens?
Come rain come shine, we photograph in all conditions. In fact, the most interesting images are made when the lighting and weather conditions are anything but high noon sunshine. In other words, a tour will not be cancelled or postponed because of a little rain or snow.
Instead, wear appropriate clothing and protect yourself and your gear.
When is last call for booking a PhotoWalk?
In order to give our guides proper notice, a tour can be booked up to 24 hours before tour start. In case you wish to join a tour starting within 24 hours, please contact us directly at booking@bmphotowalks.com and we will do our best to make it happen.
Is your website secure?
Yes, our website and payment gateway is secure and communication is encrypted. We make sure that your personal information and payment details are encrypted and securely stored.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes of course. Our private tour concept means that your personal guide is devoted to you to ensure that you get the absolute most out of the experience. To maintain the personal level you can bring 2 additional people included in the price. The private group size will not exceed 5 people in total. See additional pricing under each tour.
DO I NEED HIKING BOOTS AND WALKING STICKS?
No. We are walking in the city, and although the surface can change, we are by no means doing a strenuous hike. You should wear comfortable shoes and dress according to the local weather. In cases where you might be challenged by stairs or something similar on a PhotoWalk, we will let you know prior to booking.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON A PHOTOWALK?
A Better Moments PhotoWalk is an instructional and comfortable walk through the city led by local and experienced photographers. Depending on your needs, you will be assisted in composition and exposure, and given photographic tips as well as fun and historical facts of the sites we visit.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ON THE TOUR?
Each PhotoWalk will have a maximum of 5 people joining in your private group. This is to make sure that you will be given enough individual time to help you with your photography. Our experienced guides will make sure you bring home what you came for.
HOW LONG IS THE PHOTOWALK?
Each walking tour is planned to be 3 hours unless specifically otherwise stated. We believe this gives you the right amount of time to photograph the interesting sites without it being too long of a walk at the same time.
IS THIS JUST A WALKING TOUR OR WILL I LEARN ANYTHING AS WELL?
This is a photography tour. Not a “see the local sites” or “history tour”. Others do this much better than we do. As the name implies, we are doing photography and giving guidance therein. You can be a beginner in photography or a very experienced photographer. We will help you with anything from the right composition to dialing in the right settings on your camera. We will help you understand the relationship between ISO, shutter speed and apterture. Regardless of your level, we will help you capture the best images.
WHO IS MY LOCAL GUIDE?
Your guide is a highly qualified local photography expert trained and approved by Better Moments Photo Exploring, thereby insuring the highest level of standards. Your personal photographer guide for the day is a person passionate about photography as well as the city he or she lives in. Your guarantee for a memorable experience.
